Going out with a baby can be stressful, but it’s even worse when you don’t have what you need in your diaper bag. (This is my FAVORITE one I’ve found!)
Whether you have a fresh little newborn baby or a growing 6 month old, this list will be a lifesaver!
Now that Kaladin is 6 months, I wanted to share the items that we couldn’t have lived without in my diaper bag!
Things for Baby
Diapers are a no brainer. No matter the brand, pack AT LEAST 3 diapers in your bag. If it’s going to be a longer outing, bring 1 diaper for every 2 hours you’ll be out, plus one extra just in case.
(5 hours = 3 diapers, 6 hours = 4 diapers)
Again, no matter the brand, always have wipes with you. I recommend including the packages with pop-tops so the wipes stay wet and fresh.
Their little bums can get irritated so easily. You don’t want to be out and about with a baby in pain. Use Diaper Cream!
Change of Clothes
Things happen. Diaper blowouts and spit up are common. But hiding away a cute outfit in a diaper bag feels like a waste. Get these onesies for easy matching.
Pacifier and Wipes
Have a pacifier solely to keep in the diaper bag. Trust me. And these sanitizing wipes are gentle enough for baby to put the pacifier (or toy) back in their mouth.
Things for Mama
Again, things happen. Pack a simple shirt into the diaper bag, and if you get to the point where you need to change…any shirt will do.
I always carry at least one snack and one bottle of water with me wherever we go. You have to take care of yourself in order to take care of baby.
Tide To Go
If you don’t already own one of these sticks, GET ONE! It will save your clothes.
Things for both
These cotton muslin blankets are so comfy for both you and baby. I’ve used it as a play mat, blanket, swaddle, and car seat cover. A blanket is a MUST!
These are lifesavers when it comes to outings. They can hold dirty/stinky diapers, soiled clothes, wet reusable nursing pads, and even pre-measured formula mix.
These are perfect for sticky fingers, cleaning hands after changing a diaper, and more.
